About SW - Swirl Diffusers

Swirl diffusers are one of the most effective types of diffusers available. Generating a 360° throw on the underside of a ceiling, they achieve high-speed mixing of supplied and resident air. This means any draughts are minimised and occupant comfort is assured.

Fixed & Adjustable Blades

At HVC, we supply two main series of swirl diffusers, both of which have a 595mm x 595mm tile replacer plate:
- SWF (fixed blade) - 254mm, 356mm, 457mm and 535mm core diameters available.
- SWA (adjustable blade) - 12, 24 and 36 slot models available.
With adjustable blade swirl diffusers, each slot conceals a black anodised aluminium blade, which can be individually adjusted to achieve the required throw.

Both series can be factory fitted with a swirl plenum box: a modified variant of a standard plenum with an additional mounting rail serving as both a mounting point and a connection to ductwork. Swirl plenum boxes also have a range of options including acoustic/thermal lining and spigot mounted single blade volume control dampers to suit your requirements.

Lastly, each swirl diffuser is finished in a standard RAL9010 matte white, or in a polyester powder coating of a RAL or BS colour of your choice.
