Also known as non-return dampers, back draught control dampers are designed to prevent heat loss or back flow through intermittently used ducts by letting air flow in only one direction.
These dampers have been designed to permit air to flow in only one direction, making them useful for applications where a duct is only used at intervals and needs to be shut down when not in use to prevent heat loss or backflow.
Series BDS Back Draught Volume Control Dampers have all major components manufactured from aluminium extrusions, ensuring an inherent high resistance to corrosion and minimal weight.
As standard, BDS shutters are supplied with unlinked blades, however for applications with duct velocities exceeding 5 m/s we recommend the specification of linked blades; this adds a concealed linkage that connects each blade, and has the effect of smoothing the motion like the blades open and close. This linkage can also be equipped with removable weights, allowing dampers to be set up on-site to open and close at specific pressures.
Our range of BDS shutters are manufactured in-house to your requirements, with HVC's industry-beating lead times meaning that your order will be with you quickly.
